Valentino, for its AW15 runway collection concluded with the appearance of two unexpected guests which made the audience go wild and the internet frenetically buzz. I watched the video as soon it came out on the Sartorialist. I was staring at my pc, watching model after model coming down the runway along the 2046 Main Theme music, I thought I was about to fall asleep, until finally at the seventeenth minute, I was woken up by the appearance of Zoolander and Hansel. At the start of ‘Don’t You Want Me’, I woke up from my sleepiness and I couldn’t stop myself from laughing. Thank god, finally something different to attract media and to get the brand on everybody’s mouth. Clap, clap to the genius behind this idea, even if I must admit that it did overshadow the rest of the show. But honestly, who cares? In the end, the show managed to put a smile on everyone’s face.

The two designers of Valentino, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli for this AW15 collection presented a variety of patchworks, from striped black and white dresses, to long lace gowns, to feather-printed silks and unpredicted fur, which in the past few years was banned from the runways. The designs have not dramatically changed from the previous seasons. I must say that other than the change in patterns, the lengths and the lines have remained the same. Certainly, I will remember, so as everybody, the blue steel Zoolander pose!
