Milan Fashion Week is over and I am glad that the tour de force has finally ended. Since the beginning of MFW I hardly had time to realize I was even in Milan! On Friday morning I had the chance to go the Giamba AW15/16 collection. I have missed the Italian impeccable sense of style, so many gorgeous Italian ladies were invited to the runway. I spent almost all the time looking at them, see how they combined their garments, the jewelry, the colors and the textures. I was interrupted by my inspection when a loud music filled up the Palazzina Liberty, where the show was taking place, the lights were dimmed down and the models rapidly started walking down the catwalk.
Giambattista Valli, in his Giamba collection, has shown a punk side of himself, proposing leather belts on top of lace dresses, varnished studded boots and floral tights with fishnet stockings on top. The final touch and my favorite, was the nail and face art created by the expert hands of the MAC Cosmetics team. What do you think of this punk side of Giamba? Do you think it’s suits him, instead of proposing the usual tulle dresses? Do you think that his intention for this collection was to give something unexpected to the audience or he is showing a side of himself which was never revealed before?
I must admit that I liked this darker side of his designs, but maybe I would down grade some of the accessorize, and if they are really need it, scale it up in the upcoming collections. Let me know your thoughts!
