In the blink of an eye the first month of the new year has passed. The cold is starting to kick in, not for nothing we call these days “i giorni della merla”. Tradition wants that the 29-30-31 of January, the last three days of the month, indicate one of the coldest periods of winter. Many are the versions that explain the origin of this legend, but they all have one unique protagonist: la merla (blackbird).
On a better note, today I am going to introduce you to Sophie Habsburg’s handbag designs. I myself own one, a Madmax Safari with leopard print pony hair lining from her Winter 2012-2013 collection.
Three years ago Sophie Habsburg started designing her own handbag line. It started as a need to satisfy her taste amongst the market offerings and their overwhelming over exposure to the mass. Sophie represents a unique combination of contemporary style with a flair for traditional quality thanks to her imperial heritage and know-how of the fashion industry. Her effortless and timeless beauty struck Italy’s Emperor of Fashion, Valentino Garavani, and so she became his muse back in the 80’s. Her immaculate eye for detail led her to create a collection of handbags for all occasions wear. Sophie Habsburg Designs are Made in Italy and are selectively distributed, the price points reflect the high quality manufacturing but remain accessible.
