Oh my, Oh my! I managed to shoot this post just on time, before the North Pole winds would freeze the entire capital of the United Kingdom. The temperatures have dramatically fallen, and I still don’t know whether I am ready to face another winter. Sometimes I start daydreaming of moving to LA, or somewhere hot, where the sun is out all year round and there is no longer the need to wear hats, gloves and unappealing clothing. This post, in fact, is dedicated to LA. To the wild, eccentric and hippie city of artists, the crazy, the creative, the happy, the movie-actors. This hippie look got inspiration from a photograph I saw in a vintage shop here in London, portraying Venice Beach in the late ‘60s.

I finally managed to find an amazing pair of boot cut jeans on sale by Victoria Beckham. They are the perfect cut: slightly high-waist, skinny on the thighs and it opens up from the knee. Even if I wore them several times, they have never loosened, very very happy of the bargain. I then added a white lace top from Lalaland Fashion, which is slightly cropped, so to show this amazing leather and turquoise belt, which I bought on my last trip to Paris. I pair of high heeled boots it’s compulsory to slim the whole figure.

This amazing hand-made felt hat by Gladys Tamez Millinery comes directly from LA. Gladys Tamez, the owner and designer, after studying art in Florence, Italy at the Lorenzo de Medici and Scuola di Moda, Tamez landed a coveted apprenticeship under the Grand Dame of Los Angeles, Millner Miss Louise King. Now, as the founder and principal designer of Gladys Tamez Millinery, Tamez fuses the traditional techniques she learned with modern design as she oversees each hat that is hand-made in her Atelier.

Hollywood’s top stylists frequently pull hats for their clients, many of who become customers, including Johnny Depp, Rihanna, Kelly Rowland and Miley Cyrus. A testament to her artistry, Tamez’s “shoe” hat was recently displayed in the Decades NYC installation in honor of the Prada/Elsa Schiaparelli exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. For this I feel honoured and lucky to be gifted with this incredible hat, and bring in Gladys Tamez remarkable taste and style to Europe.
