As the hours change, and the days shorten, temperatures drop, and the weather changes; we officially enter into fashion’s next season block, Autumn/Winter. Ever since I started working, September 17th, I have been on a quest with my wardrobe season change, and I swear to you, I still have jumpers lying around my room just waiting to be either put away, or arranged in my drawers.
And this isn’t because I have too many clothes (my dad doesn’t agree with me, in fact he says the exact opposite), because I’ve been struggling to find outfits for work in the mornings (although I guess that’s a problem we almost all face on a daily basis) . But I either don’t have time, or I’m just too lazy, so I always postpone everything to the weekend, which then obviously just never happens.
As a resolution to this dilemma, recently, I have been very much in the shopping mood (so much so that a boy-friend of mine has explicably asked me to stop), observing, and day by day buying pieces to make up for the lack of matutinal imagination that I am facing.
If you were to ask me what in my opinion is one must-have item for this fall, it is the CAPE/PONCHO.
From High Fashion to Mass Market brands, you name one!
Maybe it was Burberry Prorsum’s Fall 2014 Fashion Show finale, with Cara Delevingne leading the runway wearing her “CJD” personalised cape that started the trend? Following, celebrities such as Olivia Palermo, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Sarah Jessica Parker managed to get their hands on the colour-blocked blanket coat before it was sold-out almost everywhere. Apparently, over 100 were purchased after Olivia Palermo took to the streets in hers.
